The De.Co. of Santhià

A useful tool for the protection and enhancement of local traditional agri-food products and activities as an economic, cultural and touristic value of the City of Santhià.

The first steps to rediscover our roots, to transform a commodity into a cultural product and at the same time know and enhance the territory. These are the values that led to the creation of a register of genuinely typical and identifiable products, Municipal Denominations.

These include:
The Historic Carnival’s Fagiuolata (bean stew): over 20,000 rations of fat beans, with bread and salami and a glass of wine. A tradizionale ricetta that the People of Santhià handed down from the XIV century.

The Pilgrim’s Biscuit: created by the Inocco Bakery to sweeten the pilgrims’ journey on the Via Francigena. Una ricetta semplice e gustosa.

Il Dolce di  Sant’Ignazio: the dedication of the Inocco Bakery to the Santhiatese saint, which is celebrated on September 22nd.

The Frità vrda, or green omelette, made with the day’s fresh eggs.

La Müla, a typical salami dedicated to the Historic Santhià Carnival and to the tradition of the slaughtering of the “family” bred pig.

The Venere Cake, dedicated to black rice with its unmistakable aroma and taste.
